Your team already uses SharePoint to organize documents. Meo adds a reference point before filing: what was requested, what arrived and what is still needed. One received file can leave two outstanding items clearly visible.
Compared with SharePoint’s Request files feature, Meo brings the required documents, answers and signatures into one request. Tracking the complete request, with reminders, is the reason to give Meo the collection step.
The certificate arrived. Two items are still outstanding.
Consider a fictional example: a business is preparing a new supplier file. It asks for an insurance certificate, the name of the person coordinating service visits and a signed service agreement. The supplier uploads the certificate, then returns to work.
At that moment, the Meo request lets the team track this:
| Requested item | Situation | What still needs to happen |
|---|---|---|
| Insurance certificate | Received | The team reviews its contents |
| Service coordinator | Answer outstanding | The supplier provides their name and contact details |
| Service agreement | Signature outstanding | The signer completes this step |
The assistant knows the file arrived and still needs review. A colleague taking over sees exactly what is still needed: the service contact and the signature. They can continue following up without asking for the certificate again.
Follow-up stays tied to the outstanding work
The supplier contact and the signer can be different participants. Each receives a personal link, enters a code and accesses the request without creating an account. Signing happens in Meo and is included without a quota in every plan.
You choose reminder frequency and limits. Reminders follow the required items still outstanding and stop when everything is received or the stopping condition is reached. Your team retains responsibility for reviewing the contents while Meo handles the scheduled reminders.
For the next supplier, you reuse the template and adjust the required documents. The starting list stays consistent, even when several colleagues handle the files.

What SharePoint uploads already cover
Request files lets you send a link with a description and message. Recipients can upload without a Microsoft account, and you receive an upload notification. They cannot see other files or other uploaders.
The feature depends on settings enabled by your administrator. It handles receiving files in a folder. Meo adds a request made up of documents, answers and signatures, with the status of outstanding items. This comparison covers the native upload feature; Microsoft 365 also supports workflows built with other tools.

Keep SharePoint as the working space
Once documents arrive, your team reviews them in Meo. Someone downloads the files to keep, including the signed agreement, then uploads them to the supplier folder in SharePoint. SharePoint remains where colleagues work on those copies.
This transfer is manual. Meo does not automatically sync the file with SharePoint. Adding Meo makes sense when following up on answers, signers and missing items takes more coordination than simply receiving files.
Choose Meo to make that collection visible and repeatable. Your team keeps its SharePoint filing structure while knowing exactly what still needs to be requested before handing the file over for the next stage of work.
